Sue Renner

Former longtime Alaska and Kasilof resident Sue Renner died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at her home in Florida. She was 73.

Services were held.

Mrs. Renner was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Roseville, Mich., to Lillian and H.M. Newell. She married Darrel R. Renner on Sept. 29, 1951. The couple moved to Alaska on Feb. 21, 1952.

She was a commercial fishing woman.

“Sue was the best bookkeeper the family ever had. She was known for her homemade chicken noodle soup, her many arts and crafts and especially her handmade quilts, hand-knitted Christmas socks with personalized name, her homemade cookies and her hugs. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her,” her family said.

Mrs. Renner was preceded in death by her son, Terry; granddaughter, Saneema; and brother, Jerry Newell.

She is survived by her husband, Darrel; son, Randy and his wife, Rose; daughter, Cindy; grandsons, Chad, Brandon, and his wife, Andrea, Darrel, Buddy and Tyrell and his wife, Jonni; granddaughters, Randy Rose, Brittnie and Rena Sue; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Zachary, Maddy, Emma, Max and Zoe.

Arrangements were made by Kehl’s Forest Lawn Mortuary in Anchorage.
