Sitka used a four-run third inning to beat Soldotna, 5-2, in Homer on Thursday evening.

Vanessa Cleveland took the loss for the Stars (4-6) after surrendering only two hits and four walks while fanning six in a complete-game effort.

“They played a good game. I was happy with it because they played hard the whole game,” SoHi coach Dave Cleveland said. “Sitka’s a pretty good ball team.”

Annie Gardner tripled for the Stars, who play Ketchikan at 2 p.m. today in Homer.
