JUNEAU (AP) -- A 22-year-old Juneau man who found more than $50,000 last year will get to keep the money, the Juneau Police Department announced Thursday.

Police had been holding the money that Aaron Dimond found buried at a local construction site. on Nov. 18.

But nobody came forward to claim the cash during the six-month waiting period required by the city's code, police said. So Dimond gets it.

The exact amount of the money was kept secret to discourage fraudulent claims. Police said Thursday that they would honor a request from Dimond to not reveal the amount of the cash or any other details about where it was found.
