Now, doesn't that look better?
All last week central Kenai Peninsula residents pitched in to give their communities their annual spring cleaning. They picked up, raked up, bundled up and threw away the trash that's been hidden by the snow for the past several months.
Today it feels like the chores are done, and it's time to play.
Of course, the peninsula won't stay spruced up without a constant vigil. It won't be such a big job if we all do our part.
It helps if people keep their trash loads covered. It helps if residents of a neighborhood keep their little corner of the world free of litter. It helps if businesses take responsibility for cleaning their neck of the woods. It helps if everyone plays role in keeping this place we call home looking like a place we want to live.
Every little bit done to keep our communities clean adds up.
Many thanks to the Soldotna and Kenai chambers of commerce and all the volunteers and businesses who did more than their little part during cleanup week. Everyone is enjoying the results of your hard work.
