RCAC to meet

The Cook Inlet RCAC will hold its quarterly meeting at 10 a.m. today at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Association Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road. It is open to the public. For more information or an agenda, call 283-7222 or (800) 652-7222.

Summer camp set to entertain

The Kenai Teen Center will host a summer camp for children ages 12 and 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, June 5 through 30, July 3 through 31 and Aug. 1 through 21. The cost is $150 per session, per child plus a $20 Boys and Girls Club membership fee.

Tree sale set to branch out

The annual 4-H bare root stock tree sale will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Peninsula Center Mall parking lot. A variety of trees will be offered.

Community 5-K run set for Saturday

The annual Alaska Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Kenai Police Department at 107 S. Willow St. Registration begins at 9:45 a.m. Participants may run, walk, stroll, jog, skip or rollerblade to the finish line. Entrants may gather pledges to help earn funds for the local Special Olympics.

The entry fee is $15 or $25 for a T-shirt. Registration forms also are available online at www.SpecialOlympicsAlaska.org

Cemetery cleanup slated

The Kenai Lions Club will hold a cemetery cleanup from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Kenai cemetery, where the new cemetery gazebo will be dedicated. It is open to the public. A hot dog picnic will follow.

Community fun fest set to entertain

Grace Lutheran School and church will host a community fun fest and open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the school on Ciechanski Road. Activities will include carnival games, dyno-jump, laser shoot, prize drawings every half hour and free hot dogs, pop and cotton candy. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

KCHS after-grad committee to meet

The Kenai Central High School after-grad party committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the school. For more information, call Carrie Lee Steiner at 283-7799.

Cancer awareness walk planned

Relay for Life of the Central Peninsula will host its annual cancer awareness walk June 2 and 3 at the Skyview High School track. A ceremony to honor cancer survivors will begin at 6 p.m. June 2. Organizers need volunteers and teams. Team packets are available at Stewart Title, 44096 Sterling Highway, Soldotna (next to Napa Auto Parts.)
