Kenai River Wounded Warrior Fishing Event to be held June 6th and 7th

Posted: Tuesday, May 19, 2009

On June 6th and 7th the Kenai River Professional Guide Association and Eagle Claw in conjunction with our main sponsor, Central Peninsula Hospital, will be hosting the Kenai River Wounded Warrior Fishing Event.

The two day event will bring to our community 100 of our wounded warriors and active military from both Fort Richardson and Fort Wainwright. The weekend events will start Saturday, June 6th at noon with a guided fishing trip to be followed by dinner and entertainment. Sunday's activities will start bright and early with breakfast at 5:00am followed by a guided fishing trip and ending with a BBQ with a Hawaiian Luau theme. Each soldier will go home with a variety of door prizes donated by our generous community.

This event was a huge success last year and we hope to make this year even better. We want to thank all the many volunteers and sponsors who have given so much to help with this event. Our goal is to show our appreciation to the dedication and sacrifice of our brave men and women who serve our country so we can continue to enjoy the freedoms we are accustomed too.

If you would like to be involved we still have a need for a few volunteers and donations for door prizes.

Please contact Dave Goggia at 252-3503 or Lisa Young at 335-1802 for more information.
