Longtime Alaskan and North Pole resident, Ms. Deidre Kathleen Littell, 37, died unexpectedly Saturday, May 14, 2011, at her home in North Pole.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Soldotna Methodist Church, 158 Binkley St., in Soldotna, the Rev. Richard Whetsell officiating.
Ms. Littell was born Nov. 14, 1973, at Bassett Army Hospital, in Fairbanks. She attended Soldotna High School and received her GED through Kenai Peninsula College. Deidre lived most of her life in Alaska, living in Eielson Air Force Base from 1973 -- 1976; in New Hampshire from 1976 -- 1979; in Mississippi from 1979 -- 1983; Elmendorf from 1983 -- 1987; Soldotna from 1987 -- 1996; Fairbanks from 1996 -- 2005; and the Fairbanks and Soldotna area from 2009 -- 2011. Deidre worked at the Soldotna Opticians, KATN-TV and Wedbush-Morgan Securities in Fairbanks. She was member of Soldotna United Methodist Church. Deidre loved her two sons, "Boo" and "Beaner." She loved to spend time in the garden and watch the flowers bloom each summer. She was a tissue donor.
The family wrote, "Her friends will always remember her radiant smile and her crazy antics. She loved to cook. Those close to her will remember her as DDBIRD."
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, the Rev. Edwin A. and Dorothy Fivehouse.
She is survived by her sons, James, of Texas, and Jakob, of South Dakota; parents, Cindy and Bob Littell, of Soldotna; sisters, Melissa Kline and husband, Chris, of Soldotna; and Tamra Cokonougher and husband Brian, of Florida; niece and nephew, Catie and Luke Kline, of Soldotna; nephew, Bob Cokonougher, of Florida; uncle, Douglas Fivehouse, of Florida; and numerous relatives on the East Coast.
