WASILLA (AP) -- An 18-year-old Fairbanks man was killed Friday when his vehicle clipped a truck towing a mobile home just south of Willow, according to Alaska State Troopers. His passenger was injured.

Justin Riedel was heading south in his 1989 Dodge Shadow when he clipped the mobile home trailer on the northbound truck, according to Greg Wilkinson of the troopers. The impact tore off the top of the car.

A female passenger in the car was airlifted to Anchorage for medical treatment. She was fair condition at Alaska Regional Hospital Friday evening, according to a spokeswoman there. Troopers didn't have a firm identification for her, Wilkinson said.

The truck driver wasn't hurt.

The crash occurred about noon. The highway was closed at Mile 68 near Willow until about 4:30 p.m.
