JUNEAU (AP) Members of Alaska's largest public employees' union have ratified a new one-year contract.
The Alaska State Employees Association represents about 7,500 state employees about half of the state workforce.
The union said 2,033 members voted and 1,730 or 85.1 percent of the ballots favored accepting the agreement with the Murkowski administration.
State negotiators offered ASEA and 11 other labor bargaining units a one-year extension of current contracts with a $75-a-month increase in the state's contribution toward health benefits from $630 to $705 a month.
