Soccer season scores big when it comes to support

Posted: Thursday, May 20, 2004

The Boys and Girls Club's Indoor Soccer Program has concluded another fun-filled season. More than 600 kids on 62 teams from all over the central Kenai Peninsula had the opportunity to be part of a team, get a little exercise and have some fun.

Many thanks to the players for their hard work and good sportsmanship; the enthusiastic fans for their positive support of the players; and the parents, who despite their busy schedules, took on the commitment to get their child to the practices and games ready to play.

And a very special thank you to the truly wonderful individuals who stepped up to coach a team and volunteer countless hours of their free time to work with the kids. We are lucky to have such selfless, caring people willing to serve as positive role models for our children.

The Boys and Girls Club salutes our awesome coaches: James Stenga, Ken Michels, Cathy Zorbas, Pete Wolf, Chell Atchley, Melanie Papp, Tammy Clancy, Brooke Straume, Lisa Schmitter, Lysa Diorec, Ginny Litchfield, Pete Goggia, Mike Ashwell, Mike Lasky, Phil Sheridan, John Cionan, Scott Anderson, Ben Levigne, Sandra Lewis, Roland James, Lisa Zulkanycz, Margo Reilly, Judy Johnson, Faye Shinberg, Genis Norris, Mark Schams, Mark Fowler, Darryl Byerley, Horst Haunold, Josh Miller, Connie Ferguson, DeRay Jones, David Ratcliff, Toni Fisher, Myra Arbelovsky, Jeremy Hamilton, Roger Phillips, Denise Rosin, Brian Springer, Jimmy Love, Audrey Coon, Scott Nygard, Bill Mabrey, Tim Taylor, Teri Ostrander, Charles Woodcock, Scott Miller, Ashley Bulot, Angie Richardson, Erin Rome, Scott Rosin, Russ Rosin, Tom Rosin, Dennis Leckwee, April Yurcina, Chris Amen, Crystal Nygard, Kim Senn, Teca McBride, Paul Ostrander, Teela Rodriquez, Jacki Michels, Laurie Weaver, Bobby Anderson, Tonda Feik, Julie Derkevorkian, Holly Norwood, John Straume, Lisa Groleske, Lara Ross, Mary Daly, Ted VanAntwerp, Kenny Leaf, John Coston, Jackie Garcia and Harrison DeVeer.
