Alaska State Troopers are looking for two suspects in the May 4 beating and rape of Seward resident Trefena Probert (See related story, this page).
The first suspect is described by Alaska State Troopers as a white male adult, 30 to 35 years of age, brown shoulder length hair, two earrings in the right ear, wearing a plaid insulated shirt, blue jeans and rubber boots.
The second suspect is described as a white male adult, 30 to 35 years of age, black hair a little longer than shoulder length, wearing a plaid insulated shirt, blue jeans, rubber boots and has two tattoos, an angel on his shoulder and Satan on his leg.
"We're also pursuing a few other leads as far as their descriptions that would only be known to a few people," said Alaska State Trooper Sgt. Brandon Anderson. "A couple of little things that if they turn up somewhere might be useful. The descriptions led us to believe they had something to do with boats."
Anderson said the information has been distributed throughout Southcentral Alaska.
"I'm hoping that somebody sees them or recognizes them," said Probert's sister, Shirley Snyder, of Anchor Point.
Probert died at her home on May 6, a day and a half after the assault. Sgt. Anderson said the cause of death was alcohol poisoning.
Anyone seeing individuals fitting the descriptions are encouraged to call a local law enforcement agency.
