Homer resident Orman Marquarot took the overall lead in the Homer Jackpot Halibut Derby after landing a 203.6-pounder while fishing with Capt. Scott's Sportfishing on Saturday.

Marquarot's fish was 1.6 pounds heavier than that of previous derby leader Mark Clark of Sutton, who remains in second at 202 pounds after landing his fish on the derby's opening day while fishing with Capt. Mike's Charters.

Eric Paulin of Bridgeport, Ill., is in third with a 170.2-pounder caught on May 13 while fishing with Silver Fox Charters; Mary Lou Jones of Deckerville, Mich., is in fourth for her 167.2-pound fish landed May 14 with Homer Ocean Charters; and Alan Schroeder or Corpus Christi, Texas, is in fifth with a 113.2-pound halibut caught May 14 with Inlet Charters.

No tagged fish have been caught, and two anglers have entered the released fish drawing after letting halibut bigger than 80 pounds go.
