The family moved to Kenai in 1968 when Mr. Oines was transferred with Western Airlines. During 1972-73, the couple organized and oversaw the first organized ice hockey for the youth of Kenai, North Kenai and Soldotna. Their sons were active hockey players.

“Reva deeply loved her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bridge, reading, square dancing, gardening, knitting, sewing and cooking. She made hundreds of beautiful things and loved to give them as gifts to others. Reva was a Sunday school teacher for years, and worked in various professional fields in Anchorage, Kenai and Fairbanks until her health prevented her to. Her home was always open to others. She was a kind and generous person and will be missed by many,” her family wrote.
