Herrin to play hoops at UAF
Nikiski senior Sarah Herrin has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks on a basketball scholarship.
Herrin helped lead Nikiski to a 24-3 record and a Class 3A state championship this past season. Herrin was named the Class 3A player of the year for her efforts. She also is a two-time all-state player and a two-time player of the year in the Southcentral Conference.
Herrin, the daughter of Kevin and Chris Herrin, intends to pursue a degree in criminal justice.
Kenai’s Krusen makes All-Academic team
Mary Krusen, a graduate of Kenai Central High School, has been named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic Team as a member of the track team at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Krusen, who has a 3.52 grade-point average in nursing, made the All-Academic team for the first time.
