Reader: Media standards hurting war efforts in Iraq

Posted: Monday, May 21, 2007

On May 10, the Appeal for Courage was presented to Congress by more than 2,700 active duty servicemen and women. It said: “As an American currently serving my nation in uniform, I respectfully urge my political leaders in Congress to fully support our mission in Iraq and halt any calls for retreat. I also respectfully urge my political leaders to actively oppose media efforts which embolden my enemy while demoralizing American support at home. The war in Iraq is a necessary and just effort to bring freedom to the Middle East and protect America from further attack.”

The Appeal was received in Washington by Minority Leader John Boehner and Sen. Lindsay Graham. No word from this local paper or the ADN or CNN or any other alphabet MSM outlet. The journalistic standards that are being applied to this war are defeatist and inaccurate, not to mention anti-American. God save this great nation and protect our fellow Americans, who are not only fighting the Islamo-fascists, but also the news media and a Congress mired in a culture of death.
