Plans under way for summer clubhouse

The last day of the Boys and Girls Club School Year Clubhouse will be Wednesday. The Kenai Clubhouse also will be closed Thursday though June 11. The Summer Clubhouse Program will begin June 12.

Program about native plant uses slated

A summer interpretative program will be offered at 3 p.m. Friday at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center. Bernadine Atchison will talk about traditional Dena'ina plant uses. The program is free and open to the public.

Inline hockey league planned for summer

There will be an inline hockey league at the Soldotna Sports Center May 31 through July 1. There are four age divisions and all the games will be played at the sports center.

Flea market scheduled in Ninilchik

The Ninilchik Fair Association will sponsor a craft and flea market starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds.

Table space, both indoor and outdoor, is available for $25. To reserve space, call (907) 567-3670 by Wednesday.

Computer time rental now available

PCI Skills Resource Center is currently offering computer time rental for anyone needing computer experience. Those interested can send e-mail, do Internet research or investigate e-commerce. Also offered is individual assistance on learning computer basics. To schedule an appointment, call 283-4099.

Spay, neuter clinic will make monthly visits

The Alaska SPCA low-cost spay and neuter veterinary clinic will make monthly scheduled visits to the peninsula all summer. Vaccinations also are available.

The Alaska SPCA is a nonprofit organization, funded by donations and charity of members. For more information, call Nancy at 262-1624.

Small business center to hold workshop

The Small Business Development Center is sponsoring a free workshop June 1 entitled Introduction to Professional Web Designs, presented by David Edward-Smith from Borealis Designs. The workshop is from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Economic Development District, Mile 14.5 of the Kenai Spur Highway.

Topics include target marketing, defining goals, and developing attractive Web sites. To make reservations or for more information, call 283-3335.

PCI skills center to hold computer workshops

PCI Skills Resource Center offers the following four classes through June.

The first session includes Web page creation and will be from June 12 to 16. The second session will be Quickbooks from June 19 to 23, the third will be on Excel from June 26 to 29 and the fourth session will be about basic skills with computers from June 26 through July 10 from noon to 4 p.m.

The first three sessions are from 6 to 9 p.m. For more information, call 283-4099. Preregistration is required by the Friday prior to each class.
