While Kenai recorded a high of 76 Sunday afternoon, Steve Gilles of Kenai found it an ideal time for sprinting through what's left of the snow on Skyline Trail just below the summit. Gilles took his dog Neka for a training run for the Mount Marathon race in Seward later this summer. The trail head, about 20 miles east of Soldotna, offers spectacular views of the Kenai Mountains and Skilak Lake. Forecasters are calling for temperatures to remain on the warm side -- the mid- to upper 60s -- for the remainder of the week.
