Homer man killed in ultra light plane crash

ANCHORAGE (AP) A Homer man was killed when the ultra light plane crashed during his first solo flight, Alaska State Troopers said Thursday.
Rob Serge, 45, died on impact when the plane went down at the Homer airport Thursday night. Troopers were notified of the crash shortly before 10:30 p.m.
Witnesses said Serge had just taken off when the plane banked to the left, then went down on the parking tarmac of the airport.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified.
