Anchorage resident Annie T. Myers, 65, died of natural causes Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Alaska Native Medical Center. She was 65.
Visitation and funeral services were held Tuesday, May 20, at St. Innocent's Orthodox Cathedral with the Very Rev. Macarius Targonsky officiating. Pallbearers were Brian Peterson, Rick Wetherly, Kevin Peterson, Kaylan Montague, Jesse Kahutak and Lucas Kahutak. Burial will be in Akhiok on Kodiak Island. These were her wishes.
Ms. Myers was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Karluk. She was a lifelong Alaskan, living in Akhiok, Kodiak, Kenai and Anchorage.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed Native crafts. She also was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church.
"Annie was a very loving mother and friend to all. She was very giving and loved to hold big dinners for her family; she always wanted to feed people and always had a warm smile and heart for anyone who entered her home. She was a very loving grandmother," her family said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Teacon and Ephrazinnia; brothers, Pete and Arthur; and sisters, Marie and Evelyn.
She is survived by her sons, Andrew E. Peterson Sr. of Anchorage and Nick Targonsky of Sutton; daughters, Nora Mae Angeline, residence unknown, Nina Wetherly of Modesto, Calif., Ephrazinnia Raymond of Kenai and Anita R. Hay of Wasilla; sisters, Mary Peterson of Akhiok and Jennie Zeedar of Kodiak; brother, Lawrence Peterson of Anchorage; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Evergreen Memorial Chapel in Anchorage.
