ANCHORAGE (AP) -- A man has been arrested in Alaska for an Arizona murder nearly 14 years ago, police said.
Greg Keith Fulton, 37, was taken into custody Saturday at his apartment in south Anchorage.
Fulton is charged with second-degree murder for the July 1986 killing of his girlfriend, Shelley Fuller, in Tempe, Ariz. Fuller, who was killed the day before her 22nd birthday, was shot in the face after an argument with Fulton, Tempe police said Monday.
Detectives from Tempe were in Anchorage over the weekend to present the warrant for Fulton's arrest.
Fulton was arrested during the original investigation of Fuller's murder but was released later, said Sgt. Dave Lind, a spokesman for Tempe police. Lind said he did not know why Fulton was released.
Fulton was being held at the Cook Inlet Pre-Trial Facility in Anchorage. He was expected to be extradited, police said.
