Quilters 'foster' love

The Stitches of Love Quilters group was formed in September 2004 to make quilts specifically for foster children in the Kenai and Soldotna area.

The next quilting session will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 14 at the old court house in Kenai. Donations of material and volunteers are needed. For more information, call Jane Avery at 260-9005.

Rowing classes set

The Alaska Midnight Sun Rowing Association will hold learn to row classes Friday through Sunday and June 10 through 12 on the water at Mackey Lake in Soldotna, weather permitting. The classes are about eight hours long and are for community members ages 14 and up.

The class will cover the basics of sweep rowing, dry land training, terminology, boat handling skills, safety information, techniques and rowing fundamentals. The cost is $95.

Immunization clinic moves

The Kenai Public Health Center will hold its weekly Soldotna immunization clinics from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at the Cottonwood Health Center at 170 E. Corral St., Suit 1, in Soldotna.

Baseball series seeks sponsors

Frontier Community Services is seeking sponsorships, donations and possible vendors for its annual World Series Baseball event July 9 at the Kenai Little League fields.

FCS is nonprofit organization that provides services to individuals who experience disabilities. The event provides its consumers an opportunity to participate in sport activities. For more information, call Tammy Meier at 262-6331, ext. 238 or Kathy Howard at 262-6331, ext. 276.

Garden plots available

The Kenai Parks and Recreation is taking reservations for community garden plots at the corner of Main Street Loop and First Avenue. Plots are available on a first come, first served basis. The cost is $20 and senior citizens are exempt. For more information or to reserve a plot, call 283-3692.

Parade entries and vendors sought

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for Fourth of July parade entries and vendor booths. The theme for the parade is "The Spirit of Dip Netting on the Kenai."
