Marlene Rae Jones motions to family after weighing the 270-pound halibut she caught in Cook Inlet Tuesday afternoon about 16 miles from Deep Creek.

She caught the lunker while fishing with her husband, an uncle and a cousin on a boat from Tim Berg's Alaskan Fishing Adventures.

Jones said it took about 45 minutes to bring the fish aboard. "It took the whole crew everyone on the boat to land it," she said. "I feel kind of shaky, my back and my arms. I thank God for this blessed day."
