Drama camp coming to the peninsula

The Alaska Children's Institute for the Performing Arts, a fun and exciting drama camp for grades three through 12, will be available for the first time this summer to students in Cooper Landing, Kenai and Sterling.

The institute is a non-profit organization promoting performing arts opportunities for Alaska communities. It offers two-week camps that teach children and their adult sponsors all aspects of putting on a theatrical production.

Students in each camp will put on productions of a stage adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's "A Little Princess."

The Cooper Landing session will run Tuesday through June 5. Sessions in Kenai and Sterling will be June 4-12. Cost of the camp is $99 per student, thanks to support from corporate sponsors including Agrium and Tesoro.

For more information or to register your child, call 283-6109.
