'Biggest garage sale in Kasilof' today

The Kasilof Community Church, at the intersection of Kalifornsky Beach Road and the Sterling Highway in Kasilof, will hold its fourth annual Missions Sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and Saturday.

All funds from the garage sale will provide food, warmth or money for underprivileged Russians on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Donated items and money will be accepted. Barbecued chicken and hot dogs also will be for sale. To help or donate items, call Mary Hutchinson at 262-4260.

'Hallelujah Hoe Down' scheduled

Peninsula Grace Brethren Church will hold a "Hallelujah Hoe Down" children's musical performance at 7 p.m. Thursday in the church's gym, at 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road. The performance is for all ages and is free. For more information, call 262-6442.

Sports clinic, Bible school slated

The First Baptist Church in Soldotna will host a one-day sports clinic June 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include volleyball and basketball for ages 10 to 17.

Also planned at the church is a vacation Bible school June 17-21 from 1 to 4 p.m. for grades one through six. The theme is "An Expedition to the Amazon."

Bible school planned in Nikiski

The Nikiski Church of Christ, at Mile 24.5 Kenai Spur Highway, will hold a vacation Bible school from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. June 10-12. There will be Bible classes for ages 3 through sixth grade and free refreshments. All materials are free, and there will be no collections. There will be a lunch at noon and something special in the auditorium at 1 p.m. June 12. Everyone is invited. For more information, call 776-8431 or 776-5285.

Kenai church set to go 'buggy'

Vacation Bible school will be held June 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Star of the North Lutheran Church, 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai. Children of all ages are encouraged to come to a "Bug Safari." There will be theme-related stories, music, crafts, games and snacks.

Soldotna chapel will 'do what's right'

The Soldotna Bible Chapel will hold a "Do What's Right" vacation Bible school program for children ages 4 through sixth grade June 17-21. Children will learn to "Do What's Right" as they study God's word and have snacks, crafts, songs and games.

Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to noon each day at 301 Marydale Ave. in Soldotna. The closing program will be at 11:45 a.m. June 21. For more information, call 262-4865.

Children needed for patriotic musical

Peninsula Christian Center is accepting all interested children in first through sixth grades to participate in a "Salute to America" patriotic musical as part of the "God and Country" rally June 30 at Kenai Central High School.

An informational meeting will be at 4 p.m. May 30 at the center. Registration ends June 7. To register a child and receive more information about rehearsals, call 260-4686.
