Agencies respond to 2-acre Kenai fire

Firefighters from Kenai, Nikiski and the Alaska Division of Forestry in Soldotna responded to a 2-acre brush fire at the end of Evergreen Drive at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday.

Kenai Assistant Fire Chief James Baisden said the fire started in a vacant wooded lot at the end of the street, which is in a residential area.

Baisden said it took firefighters between 30 to 45 minutes to put the blaze out. None of the homes in the area were threatened

Firefighters are still investigating the cause, Baisden said.
