Tsalteshi Trails Triatholon set for Monday

The Tsalteshi Trails Triathlon will be Monday, Memorial Day, at Skyview High School. Races for kids 12 and under will start at 9 a.m., with the open races at 11 am.

Applications can be downloaded from or may be filled out on race day. Races will be for individuals, or relays in all age groups.

Activities will include live entertainment by JD Uponen, Peel with Neil Darling, and other guests. A barbecue lunch will be available. For more information, contact John Steckel at 283-0836 or

Kenai LIO closed for Memorial Day

The Kenai Legislative Information Office will be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

The first session of the 23rd Alaska State Legislature adjourned Wednesday. During the interim and beginning Tuesday, the Kenai LIO will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will be closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.

Immunization clinic canceled due to holiday

The immunization clinic in Kenai on Monday has been canceled due to the Memorial Day holiday. For more information, call Kenai Public Health at 335-3400.

KDLL board to meet

The KDLL public radio board of directors will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Economic Development District Building, 3 miles north of Kenai. It is open to the public.

Group to discuss book

The Kenai Library Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the library conference room to discuss "The Seven Pillars of Wisdom: A Triumph" by T. E. Lawrence.

Anyone interested in reading and sharing what they have read with others is encouraged to attend.

Kenai chamber luncheon meets Wednesday

Congressman Don Young will be the featured speaker at the Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon this week. His topic will be legislative issues.
