Business step in to help students

Posted: Wednesday, May 25, 2005

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many business who came alongside my fourth- and fifth-grade class from Sterling Elementary to help raise money for our field trip to Whittier.

In Whittier, my students boarded the M/V Glacier Queen and participated in the excellent Prince William Sound Explorer program, learning what makes Prince William Sound so unique.

Unocal, Alaska Bolt and Chain, Kenai River "Drifter" Lodge, Interior Design with Sharon Denny and The Variety Store of Port Graham all gave generously to keep the cost within reach of all families.

Thank you again for reaching out to the children of Sterling Elementary. We could not have gone on this breathtaking adventure without your support.

Carol Boehmler, Fourth-fifth-grade teacher, Sterling Elementary
