ANCHORAGE (AP) -- An Anchorage man drowned early Saturday in Prator Lake near Houston, Alaska State Troopers reported.

Jason Boroughs, 28, was pulled unconscious from the lake and taken to Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Boroughs and Jason Reed, 30, were out on the lake in a small inflatable raft when it capsized and both of them went into the water, troopers said. Reed was able to swim to shore, but Boroughs didn't make it.

Troopers were called around 2 a.m. Rescue workers found Boroughs in the lake, but they couldn't revive him.

Reed was also taken to Valley Hospital, where he was treated for hypothermia and released.

Neither man was wearing a life jacket. Troopers said alcohol was a factor in the accident.
