Today is sport spirit day.
Field day activities also are taking place today, with grades four through six from 9 to 11:40 a.m., grades one through three from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and kindergartners from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
Pizza and pop will be sold during lunch today for $2.50.
The last day of school activities Thursday include awards assemblies at 9 a.m. for grades one through three and at 10 a.m. for grades four through six.
The school picnic also is Thursday. Students will eat at their regular lunch times. The cost is $2. Parents and siblings attending the picnic are asked to send their names and $2 each to the school prior to the picnic so that sufficient food is prepared.
Parents are needed to help with field day today and the school picnic tomorrow. Contact the school office at 262-9006.
Jeromy Hale was the recipient of the $500 Redoubt Elementary 2003-04 scholarship. This annual scholarship is funded through proceeds from Ice Cream Friday and is available to graduating seniors who attended Redoubt.
Fifth-grade teacher John Mills was selected as the Kenai Peninsula BP Teacher of the Year.
Money remaining in school lunch accounts will carry over to next school year. Parents wishing a refund should submit their request in writing to Student Nutrition Services, 139 E. Park Ave., Soldotna, AK 99669.
Grade level supply lists for next school year will be available on Edline and at local stores in June.
Yearbooks still may be purchased at the school office for $15.
The school has adopted the soccer field and spread top soil over the area last week. Thank you to Paula Rohloff, Patty Dombovy, Kim VanAntwerp, Guy Hayes, Gary and Sharon Hale, Andrew Carmichael, Brad Carver and Kenai Peninsula Borough Maintenance for their help. Parents and students are asked to help keep people off of the field during the summer months to give the new grass a chance to grow. Donations of grass seed, fertilizer and lime will be appreciated. Individuals interested in helping with this project should contact Mr. Syverson.
The school is accepting monetary donations for its new computer lab. Six computers remain to be purchased at a cost of approximately $1,000 each.
The Redoubt staff thanks parents, students and community members for a great school year and looks forward to seeing everyone back at school Aug. 24.
