Aces take 2-0 lead

The Alaska Aces defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 Thursday night at Anchorage’s Sullivan Arena to take a 2-0 lead in the Kelly Cup finals.

Gwinnett outshot the Aces 36-26 but still lost in front of a crowd of 6,253. The next game is Monday at Gwinnett.

The Gladiators grabbed a 2-0 lead on goals by Derek Nesbitt and Jeff Campbell. However, Alaska came back with three goals by Chris Minard and another by Ryan Gaucher. Minard assisted on the Gaucher goal. Gwinnett scored with 16 seconds left, but could not find the equalizer.
