The Central Peninsula Relay for Life will hold Bank Night on June 1 and 2. The event will take place at the Soldotna Wells Fargo branch office on the Sterling Highway from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each night. Teams participating in the Relay for Life are urged to attend one of the Bank Night sessions to turn in the donations raised for cancer research.
Central Peninsula Relay for Life will begin June 4 at 5:30 p.m. with a Survivors Dinner at Skyview High School. The Opening Ceremonies will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Skyview High School track. An elementary basketball skills and fundamentals camp will be held May 31 to June 4 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Skyview High School. The camp is open to boys are girls who were in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in the 2009-2010 school year. There is a $20 fee. Contact Coach Cary Calvert at 335-3359 to register.
Avoid the August rush and get your immunizations! Kenai Public Health Center will hold a special immunization clinic on June 2 from 8:30 a.m. to noon and then again from 1 to 5 p.m.

"Dynamics of Dying" workshops for health care providers will be held June 2 and 3 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Denali Conference Room at the hospital. A seminar open to the community on the same theme will be June 3 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Topics to be covered include: recognizing the fear of death as it relates to our society; applying a process to dying from disease; identifying signs of approaching death from disease; and using knowledge to neutralize the fear of dying.
