The Homer softball team moved to 6-0 in the Northern Lights Conference with a 9-5 victory over visiting Kodiak on Wednesday. The Mariners also took a second, nonconference game 13-3.
In the conference win, Homer got its nine runs on only five hits. The Bears committed nine errors in the game. Homer pitcher Hannah Larue got the win despite seven Homer errors. Larue gave up four hits and two earned runs in seven innings of work.
In the second game, Homer banged out nine hits, with Brooke DeVaney and Ashley Ketelle leading the way with two hits apiece. DeVaney and Ketelle also each scored three runs.
Zoe Fogg pitched the first three innings and gave up three hits and one earned run. Kathleen McNary pitched the final two innings and gave up two runs -- one earned -- on five hits.
Homer plays a league game against the Bears in Homer today at 10 a.m.
