Salmon won't be the only thing running on the Kenai Peninsula this summer. Residents and visitors also have a number of chances to try their luck at fun runs.
The 2000 Alaska Runners Calendar provides a list of numerous runs occurring on the peninsula from the Peninsula Triathlon in Soldotna on Memorial Day to the Memory Walk in Homer Sept. 16. Races are scheduled in Kenai, Soldotna, Kasilof, Nikiski, Cooper Landing, Hope, Sterling, Homer and Seward and range from free to $25.
Calendars can be obtained from the Women's Resource and Crisis Center in Kenai.
