Josif Yakunin
Nikolaevsk School
My name is Josif Yakunin. I'm the fifth child out of eight. I have lived in Nikolaevsk most of my life and have been going to school there since kindergarten. And I must say, I've had a great time.
In school, I've tried to stay busy. I have participated in the student government, the school yearbook and also the school newsletter. I've also played basketball all through high school and a year of volleyball as well.
After graduating, I plan to go to college and further my education, because it has been proven that education is the key to success.

As my high school career comes to an end, I look back and see that my last four years have been amazing. I won a state championship and three region titles in volleyball. I was named to the Alaska All-State basketball team and nominated as an All-American. I participated in track and field. All the while, I maintained a 4.0 grade point average.
I will attend Humboldt State University next fall, where I plan to study natural resources and red-shirt on the basketball team. I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me get this far.
