Posted: Friday, May 27, 2005

The Kenai Convention and Visitors Bureau's Board of Directors would like to thank all who attended and supported the gala reception for the "Alaska 2005: Native Arts Now" summer exhibit. Friday night's opening was a success because of the hard work and support of Charlotte's, Snug Harbor Seafoods, Virgil Mosiman of Odom Corp. and the Back Door Lounge, Penny and her crew from Heavenly Delights, Bill Zumwalt, Bill and Dorothy Fry with Bear Creek Winery, and the Kenai Central High School football and basketball players.

This summer's exhibit is made possible by the generous financial and in-kind contributions of Platinum sponsors: the city of Kenai, ConocoPhillips and Marathon Oil Corp.; Gold sponsors: Era Aviation and Homer Electric Association; Silver sponsors: Fred Braun, Freedom Realty, Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, Premier Alaska Tours and Tesoro Alaska; Bronze sponsors: Alaska Railroad, Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures, XTO Energy Inc., Diamond M Ranch B and B, Cabins and RV Park, The Fish Hut Charters and Lodging, Kenai Vision Center, Marion Nelson of The Milepost, Odom Corp.-Uptown Motel, Red Cabin B and B, Salamatof Native Association Inc., Salmon Catcher Lodge and Wells Fargo Bank; and these supporters of the Kenai Convention and Visitors Bureau: Alaska Rivers Co., Burger Bus, Calista Corporation, Great Alaska Tour Saver, Harborside Cottages, Hotel Beacon (NYC), Kenai Fabric Center, Kenai Fjords Tours, Kenai Rotary Club, Major Marine Tours, Northern Alaska Tours, NYC and Co., Phillips Cruises and Tours, Tacklebuster Charters, Talon Air Service, Celia Anderson, Connie Tarbox and Debbie Harris.

Special thanks to Ron Senungetuk for curating and installing the show and to the 26 Alaska Native contemporary artists whose work is being displayed throughout the summer.

Bring your family and friends to visit this and the other exhibits at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center while they are in town.
