Safe Kids Kenai Peninsula and participating organizations hosted the 8th Annual Water Safety Event on May 7 at Skyview High School. This year 102 children plus their parents and caregivers attended the event and learned about water safety and 72 of them purchased Mustang personal flotation devices (PFDs) for a discount.

We greatly appreciate and thank Kenai River Sportfishing Association who has generously continued to fund this program. We give special thanks to Mustang Survival Inc., Alaska Office of Boating Safety, Alaska State Parks, Central Emergency Services, Kenai Peninsula McDonalds, Central Peninsula Hospital Volunteers, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and all the special individuals who made this event come together.

Applause to: Jack Ransom, Shane Stephenson, Dena Cunningham, Maureen Mokracek, Lauri Lingafelt, Mary Jane Hanley, Michelle Ostrowski, Ryan Banks, Gary Hale, Josh Thompson, Jason Craig, Beth Reihter, Morgan & Madison Cunningham, ,Jerry & Annita Braun, Cierra Vahdehey, and Tyler Lingafelt. We greatly appreciate the use of Skyview High School and their pool and we thank Curtis Schmidt, Luke Baumer, Terry Woodward, Kim Brusven and Lindsey Rohr who helped make it a safe event. Jersey Subs receives applause for their continued support in feeding our wonderful volunteers.
