Homer High honors 4 valedictorians

Timothy A. Byrne

Tim has been active in the Homer High School music program and has participated in the Alaska All-State Honor Band. He also is involved in his community, earning many awards including the Anchor Point Youth of the Year Award for 2001. He will study psychology at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif. Tim is the son of Steve and Ruth Byrne.

Jami Janelle Epley

 

Jamie Janelle Epley - Homer High valedictorian

Jami Janelle Epley is the daughter of Bryan and Wilma Epley. She is active in her church youth group, National Honor Society, student council, volunteer community service, basketball, volleyball, track and club volleyball. She plans to get a degree in wildlife biology at Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho.

Sadie Polen

Sadie Polen has spent the past four years of her life attatched to Homer High School. For a small school, she said she has found that the school offers a surprisingly large amount of activities both in and out of school. She has been involved with volleyball, soccer, Natural Helpers, student council and, as a junior, spent a year in Uruguay.

Travis Kiefer

Travis Kiefer is the son of Charles and Kathee Kiefer. A public radio volunteer at KBBI AM 890 Homer, he plans to continue volunteer braodcasting work at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., where he will be headed in the fall. Provided college academia doesn't rob him of his sanity, he would like to earn a bachelor's degree in psychology, he says.
