Nikiski High honors 7 valedictorians

Todd Brigham

Todd Brigham, son of Steve and Geri Brigham, plans to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks and study mechanical engineering in the fall. He enjoys sports, especially football and hockey. He has received awards and scholarships in athletics and VICA skills competitions. He will be participating at the National VICA competition this summer.

Zachary Hall

 

Zachary S. Hall - Nikiski High valedictorian

Zachary Hall is the son of Hal and Carol Hall of Nikiski. Zachary has been active on the cross-country ski team, football team, chamber choir, jazz band, student council and National Honor Society.

He will attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., where he plans to major in music education and continue his Nordic ski career.

Aaron Sanders

 

Aaron Sanders - Nikiski High valedictorian

Aaron Sanders is the son of Steve and Sherry Sanders of Nikiski. He is an avid musician playing the drums and guitar. He currently plays in a band titled "Two Cent Syndicate," which will perform May 30 at Nikiski High School's auditorium. Aaron plans to study music at the University of Alaska--Anchorage in the fall. Aaron says, "I am one of numerous Christians in my school via missions and the friendships I have obtained. I have trusted God as my guide and He keeps me always."

Makenzie Dixon Jorgensen

 

Makenzie Dixon Jorgensen - Nikiski High valedictorian

Makenzie Dixon Jorgensen is the son of Gale and Rebecca Jorgensen. His hobbies and interests include paintball, snowmachining, hunting, fishing, music, guitar, soccer, boxing, watching Bulldog football games and hanging out with friends. He will attend the University of Alaska Anchorage in the fall, then plans to transfer to Oregon State University for a degree in mechanical engineering.

Jennifer Miller

 

Jennifer Miller - Nikiski High valedictorian

Jennifer Miller came to Nikiski eight years ago with her parents, Vern and Candie Miller, and younger brother and sister. She will attend Washington State this fall. During her high school career, Jenny has been actively involved on the drama/debate, Future Problem Solvers, cross-country running, skiing and track teams, as well as with Youth Court and National Honor Society. Her favorite things to do are hike and mountain climb in Alaska.

Aurora Zinck

 

Aurora Zinck - Nikiski High valedictorian

Aurora Zinck, the daughter of Brian and Teresa Zinck, has maintained a 4.0 grade point average since kindergarten. She is student body secretary at Nikiski High. Aurora is captain of the debate team and won the state championship in policy debate. She participates in Nikiski's varsity soccer, skiing and running teams and plays softball. Next year, Aurora will attend Michigan's Oakland University to study law and engineering. She will continue her debate and softball career in college.

Evangeline Pattison

 

Evangeline Pattison- Nikiski High valedictorian

Evangeline Pattison was born in Sitka and moved to Nikiski in 1991. Her parents are Wayne and Lyn Pattison and she has a sister, Carrie. Vangie has been involved in the Kenai Peninsula Youth Court for six years and is currently chief judge. She is a 4.0 student and holds positions as varsity basketball manager, National Honor Society president and student body president. A regional Coca-Cola Scholar, Evangeline will attend George Fox University and major in organizational communications/public relations.
