3 seniors graduate from Cook Inlet Academy

Three students graduated from Cook Inlet Academy, a small Christian school in Soldotna, on May 19.

Graduates took turns speaking at the Sunday afternoon ceremony, then were addressed by former CIA student and current Kenai Police Lt. Chuck Kopp.

The ceremony focused on celebration, appreciation and faith.

Michelle Gruber - Susan B. English School

Valedictorian Justin Franchino is the son of Scott and Carmen Franchino, and his siblings are Janel and Jeremy. His interests in high school have been church involvement and basketball. He was a member of the 1999 and 2002 state championship teams and was voted 2A state player of the year in 2002. He plans to attend New Tribes Bible Institute in Jackson, Mich., this fall, aiming to become a missionary.
