Sears to sell Macintosh computers

Sears Elementary School will have used Macintosh computers for sale today starting at 10 a.m. Cost will be $25 for Mac 520, 575 and 580 models; $50 for Power Macs and $5 for printers and other accessories.

Unocal grants awards for cleanup

Unocal has announced the winners of the Kenai and Soldotna Cleanup Competition held this month. Kenai residents collected 263 bags of garbage, while Soldotna collected 394 bags. Unocal offered prizes for groups who collected the most bags of garbage in each city. The awards were as follows:

Kenai youth: New Life Assembly of God, 84 bags, $300; North Road Wrestlers, 72 bags, $200; and Boys and Girls Club, 26 bags, $100.

Kenai adults: HP Parts and Machines, 33 bags, $300; Lions Club, 23 bags, $200; Signworks, 10 bags, $50; and Kenai Care Center, 6 bags, $50.

Soldotna youth: Alaska Young Marines, 60 bags, $300; Soldotna Elementary School 45 bags, $200; and Soldotna High School cheerleaders, 39 bags, $100.

Soldotna adults: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 55 bags, $300; Great Bear Ford, 40 bags, $200; and Gramma's Ditch Divers, 26 bags, $100.

School district to sell excess food

The Student Nutrition Services department of the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will have its annual food inventory reduction sale Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the district's central receiving warehouse, 139 E. Park Ave. in Soldotna.

The sale is open to the public. Items for sale will include packaged snack foods such as granola bars, chips, cookies, jerky, fruit leather, tortilla chips, frozen bread and bakery products and beverages.

Only cash or local check will be accepted and all sales are final. For more information, call Michael Lengenfelder at 262-9367.

Homer Community School offers summer courses

Registration for summer courses through Homer Community School will be from 3 to 8 p.m. June 4 to 6 at Homer High School. Homer Community School has made the following additions and corrections to the summer program guide:

Beginning and intermediate group tennis lessons will be offered Monday through Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per hour, with a minimum requirement of three lessons. Private lessons are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. or 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per hour.

Little Feet Soccer will be on Tuesdays and Fridays instead of Tuesdays and Thursdays. The time has been changed from 4 to 5 p.m. instead of 4 to 5:30 p.m.
