Generosity of many raises $10,000 for endowment fund

Posted: Wednesday, May 28, 2003

Thank you! Thank you! The Sterling Senior Center Pig Roast and Auction held May 16 was indeed a great success, a lot of fun and good eats for those who attended.

Fifty-eight businesses and individuals donated 107 items to be auctioned. Norm and Barb Blakely and son, Jesse, donated their talents and skills as auctioneer and assistants to help make for a most entertaining evening. We could not have experienced the enjoyment that we did without them.

In addition, donations have been received, or pledged, by supporters who couldn't attend or were unsuccessful in their bidding. Every dollar received during this gala fund-raiser has been deposited in the endowment fund and will go a long way to help ensure "Funding Our Future." The dollars received for the dinner, auction bids, donations and pledges will total $8,840.35.

In addition, we are truly blessed to have our own "Senior Angel" who has pledged an amount that will allow us to exceed $10,000 for the evening. God bless and thanks to each of you who contributed, helped organize and put on this most successful event.
