Home-schoolers receive diplomas

Ten students from around the Kenai Peninsula completed their educations this month through Connections, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's home-school program. The Connections graduation ceremony was held May 20 at the Kenai Merit Inn.

The Galena School District's statewide correspondence program, Interior Distance Education of Alaska, or IDEA, also graduated several Kenai Peninsula students this month. Students hailed from all over the peninsula from Seward to Homer to Nikiski and earned diplomas with the help of their parents and IDEA staff in Soldotna and Homer.
