The annual Soldotna Safety Day, sponsored by the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, the city of Soldotna and State Farm Insurance in Soldotna, would like to thank all those who participated in this year's event. Many volunteers and organizations give of their time to promote and teach safety issues.

I just want to list a few of the contributors and give my sincere thanks to ConocoPhillips, Peter Micciche; HEA, Joe Gallagher; Peninsula Smoke Free, Jenny Olendorf; Soldotna Police Department, Sgt. Tony Garcia and Officer Rory Espy; CES Fire Marshals Gary Hale and Brad Nelson; 4-H, Nancy Veal; 5K run, Pastor Jim Duncan; MS Walk, Jodi and Tim Reek; Soldotna Chamber of Commerce, Michelle and Stephanie; Safe Kids Coalition, Jane Fellman; Boy Scouts of America, Jodi Stuart; and the city of Soldotna, Andrew Carmichael.

Thank you the many participants who cooked -- Tom Boedeker and John Torgerson; served -- Renee Duncan, Cindy Newby and Audra Winsmann; and cleaned -- Alaska Waste. Thank you to those who entertained us -- Nancy Saylor, Light House Praise and Diggin' Roots.

A congratulations to those who participated in the poster contest, with the theme of "Safety for a Lifetime."

Thank you for all coming. I hope you had as much fun as I did. Have a safe, fun summer and hope to see you again next May.
