School computer sales scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will sell computers from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following schools around the district: Nikiski High School -- today and Friday; Homer High School -- June 3, 4, 5; Soldotna High School -- June 10, 11; Kenai Central High School -- June 18, 19; Skyview High School -- June 24, 25; Ninilchik School -- June 26; Seward High School -- June 29, 30; and Soldotna Middle School -- July 2.

Weight training begins

Skyview High School athletes may attend physical training sessions from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning Monday. The weight room also will be open to incoming eighth-grade athletes. Immunizations available

The Kenai Public Health Center at 630 Barnacle Way, Kenai, provides walk-in immunization services from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursdays at the Soldotna Cottonwood Clinic.

Immunization requirements have changed and now require all children in kindergarten through sixth grade to have two chicken pox vaccinations. Kenai Public Health Center will hold an immunization clinic from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 6. Parents are asked to bring their child's records.

Donations sought

Donations are being accepted at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10046 at 134 N. Birch St. in Soldotna for the third annual garage and bake sale slated for June 19 and 20. Proceeds go to support local veterans and community services. Call the post at 262-2722 for more information.

Teens for hire

Soldotna High School football players are seeking opportunities to earn money for summer football camps. To schedule an appointment, call Lauri Lingafelt at 398-4298.

Self-defense class offered

Self-defense class taught by certified instructors will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. June 17 to 19 and from 10 to noon June 20 at Christ Lutheran Church on the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna. The cost is $50 per person.

Swim lessons make a splash

Registrations are being taken for swim lessons at Soldotna High School starting June 1. Children at least 3 years old may participate. Class size is limited.
