Funny River drama club on stage

Funny River Community Center is starting a summertime drama club! Parents bring your children to the first meeting on June 9 from 2:30 to 4: 30 p.m. at the center and find out what fun they can have in theater. We will meet every Wednesday at the same time through Sept. 1. Call Jill Tyler at 262-6148 for more information.

Kasilof cemetery clean-up slated

A clean-up day is scheduled for the Spruce Grove Cemetery in Kasilof from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Bring leaf rakes and gloves; lunch will be provided at the See's. For more information, call Jan or Brock at 283-9243.

Basketball camp set

An elementary basketball skills and fundamentals camp will be held Monday to Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Skyview High School. The camp is open to boys are girls who were in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in the 2009-2010 school year. There is a $20 fee. Contact coach Cary Calvert at 335-3359 to register.

Gardeners gather

The Central Peninsula Garden Club will host the following events: Today -- Nels Anderson will be speaking on gladiolas at 7 p.m. at the Cook Inlet Aquaculture Building on Kalifornsky Beach Road; Saturday -- Scaling up your garden for self sufficiency or market gardening, Giant pumpkin growing and other greenhouse and soil enhancements.
