Miss Pecora was born May 20, 1988 in Torrance, Calif. She attended elementary and middle school in Lake Elsinore, Calif. She moved to Alaska with her family in June 2002. She then attended Soldotna High School and received her GED in 2006. She excelled in math and always received high grades in school.
Miss Pecora was an active church member and was baptized at St. Frances of Rome in Lake Elsinore, Calif. She adored the Easter story of Jesus and accepted him as her savior at age 5.
She enjoyed singing songs from some of her favorite artists, which included Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera.
"Michele is especially remembered by family and friends as being a very 'playful and angelic' child with a light hearted spirit. She was a non-judgmental person. She loved to joke around a lot and make us all laugh. She enjoyed 'kickin' back' with friends and family. She had a talent for making up some of her favorite nicknames like 'Krazy Kat' and 'Skippy.' She also had the largest collection of My Little Ponies in the world. She loved her two Kat's Bootie and Electra.
"She loved the beaches, pool parties, singing, playing guitar, riding Harleys, camping, fishing, playing in the snow, skate boarding, art, math and swimming.
"Michele's Cherokee Spirit name was Running Sparrow Hawk, meaning fun, swift, smart, keen and playful. Michele is singing and soaring with the angels, spirits and those who have gone before her. Always in our hearts as one -- AHO!" her family said.
