The La Leche League of Soldotna and Kenai will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of the month at the Frontier Community Services Playroom in the Red Diamond Center on Kalifornsky Beach Road. The league is a breastfeeding resource group that offers free monthly meetings, mother-to-mother breastfeeding support, telephone assistance and a lending library. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are invited to attend. Babies are welcome.

The Kenai Peninsula Borough is offering a free right of way hazard tree removal project to all borough landowners with beetle killed spruce tree within 100 feet of a state- or borough-maintained road. Work request forms are available at the Kenai Peninsula Spruce Bark Beetle office at 253 Wilson Lane in Soldotna.

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers, sponsors, parade entrants, vendors and entertainers for its 4th of July celebration in Kenai.
In celebration of the state's 50th year of statehood, the theme will be "The 49th Turns 50." The parade will kick off the day in Kenai, followed by vendor booths, games and entertainment on the park strip.
