Church celebrates 40th anniversary

North Star United Methodist Church will celebrate its 40th anniversary at 6 p.m. Saturday. A catered dinner, silent auction, door prizes, memory video and more are planned. For tickets, call the church at 776-5545. The cost is $20 per person.

Old-fashioned camp meeting set

Independent Baptists will hold an old-fashioned gospel singing and Bible preaching camp at 2 p.m. Sundays. Meetings will be held in the Pavilion at 37496 Scout Lake Road. For more information, call 252-8818 or 394-3373.

Fifth Sunday meeting planned

VBS planned

* The Star of the North Lutheran Church will hold a free vacation Bible study from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through June 5 at 216 N. Forest Drive in Kenai. There will be Bible stories, games, crafts and snacks. Preregistration is not required. For more information, call 283-4153 or 283-9224.

* Immanuel Baptist Church at Mile 15 Kalifornsky Beach Road will host a vacation Bible study entitled "Polar Extremes" from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through June 5. Thrift store opens

The Lighthouse Community Church thrift store, The Sandbox, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The store is in the office building next to the church in Nikiski. Donations are welcome.

Potluck, study continues

Saint Luke Lutheran Church will holda potluck and study focusing on the orthodox teachings of ancient Christianity pertaining to the two natures of Jesus Christ: Son of Man and Son of God at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at the McLennan Kitchen, 601 Davidson St. in Kenai.The study will focus on how this relationship of two natures in one person relates to salvation. Aglow Bible study set

Soldotna Day Aglow will hold a Bible study called "Restoring Your Covenant Roots of Blessing," by Dr. Robert Heidler and Dr. Chuck Pierce, at 10 a.m. Wednesdays at Peninsula Christian Center at the corner of Cohoe and Farnsworth in Soldotna behind The Salvation Army. Free clothes available

The Clothes 4 U Ministry offers free clothing to benefit the community. The ministry is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at First Baptist Church Soldotna Mission House at 119 Little Ave. in Soldotna. For more information, call 260-4806.

Saturday Bible classes continue

Clothes Quarters open

Prayer group meets for breakfast
