FAIRBANKS (AP) -- A 5-year-old girl was bitten by her family dog, a husky-wolf hybrid, according to Alaska State Troopers.
The girl suffered moderate but not life-threatening injuries in the Sunday morning attack, said Trooper Gary Tellep. She was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The dog's owner reportedly asked that the dog be put down as a result of the incident, which occurred about 10:30 a.m.
Troopers withheld the girl's name. The dog was 10 years old and reportedly had no prior history of aggression.
