Kenai Peninsula students and teachers are on summer vacation. Check with individual schools to find out how long principals and secretaries will remain on duty. Teachers will return to school Aug. 15. Students will return to school Aug. 22. Check with individual schools about registration dates.
Singers invite community to reunion concert
The Kenai Central High School choir reunion concert will be Saturday at 8 p.m. in the KCHS auditorium.
Every person who has sung in the choir one semester or more from 1971 to the present is invited to sing at the reunion. Rehearsals are Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to noon and from 4 to 6 p.m. The picnic will be Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. To register, come to rehearsals or send a letter to: KCHS Choir Reunion 1971-2001, Box 2021, Kenai, AK 99611 or call 283-8364. The remaining members of the community who won't be on stage singing are invited to this free summer concert. The choir reunion has been organized by alumni to honor KCHS music teacher Renee Henderson.
School board meets Monday
The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District's Board of Education will meet Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Borough Building in Soldotna. All school board meetings are open to the public.

Challenger offers science camps
The Challenger Learning Center of Alaska in Kenai is offering a series of summer science camps and workshops, beginning June 7. The programs are targeted to specific age groups ranging from kindergarten through eighth grade.
